I had the opportunity to hear Dr. Hugh Herr speak in the fall of 2014 when he came to Edmonton. He's quite the visionary. His talk, believe it or not, had very little to do with amputees and prosthetics. It was a discussion about biomechanics and what is already possible and also what is to come in the future.
Myself, being an amputee, I had a hard time tearing my eyes away from those feet as he walked so naturally back and forth...

Amazing, Trevor...I got to see that foot on display when I attended the Amputee Coalition Conference last summer, and I talked to one of the reps, but I didn't get to see it in action, except for a brief video. I know that, with my own leg, each improvement in technology has resulted in feeling "less disabled," and I'd love to feel what a true bionic limb would be like. It was fascinating to see someone just "wandering about" in a completely natural manner.
He's a most compelling speaker...I'd think that hearing him talk about anything would be well worth listening to!
