Has anyone tried snowboarding? If so, any advice?
I thinking about trying it but I'm a little leary.

Before the amputation I did, it was a howling failure :-) If you've even done windsurfing, it't a bit like that. I would think though that it would work for BKA's.
I've tried cross country and that works and I would expect that you'd have the same trouble getting up again with the snowboard. I found that I had to take the boot on the prosthesis side off the ski to get up again.

Get instruction. There are plenty of adaptive ski programs around (snow sports are about the only outdoor activity with supervision/instruction widely available for amps) -- there's bound to be a program near you.
Do you ski? It might help to have a little on-snow experience with skis before trying to ride.

Thanks for the replies. I won't be trying snowboarding this year. I have a stress fracture on the end of my femur at the hip socket. Ugh. 3 months of taking it easy. Looking forward to cycling this spring.
