A couple of years back, I worked out that the reason my new pinlock leg wasn't feeling right was that the PIN was too long.
It was going in, then all the way down, but the unlock mechanism hadn't been positioned properly, so the bottom of the pin was hitting the mechanism, and my leg wasn't fully into the socket.
Prosthetist agreed, sawed 5mm off the pin, filed down the end, and it was fine.
I'd forgotten all about this until I got a nice new liner in the post (old one breaking down), without a pin, so I dug a spare pin out of my bits box, and wondered why the leg felt 'bouncy'. Until I remembered the pin.
And sure enough, when I switched it to my 5mm shorter pin, the bounciness went and it feels normal.
You can check by sitting at a table with your leg in front of you, and letting the liner drop into the hole. Once it's all the way in, it should still feel firm but 'free', but if you can push it down and make it feel 'hard' against something, it might be an overlong pin.
Shouldn't happen, of course, but life being what it is...
