As you can undoubtedly tell, this discussion board is definitely in its infancy to say the least. The initial set up and structure of the boards themselves is just an initial stab.
We'd like to hear from you what you'd like to see these boards be. If there's an area of discussion that you'd like to see and would like to see a sub board for it, please reply to this thread with your ideas.

In the past, I've found certain topics useful, like forums focused on prosthetists, or general conversation about amp-related issues. Some forums, I thought, got a tad too focused (sexuality? probably important, but for me the general forums were much more useful.)

I think all the topics were important. OK some of them (e.g. sexuality) got a bit obsessive occassionally, but they were still important...especially if you happened to be single. A female only section (i.e. viewed only by members of that section) would be good, if possible, as us ladies have some special requirements that we don't really need to bother men folk with. And, a small section for parents of kiddies who happen to pop in would be good, as it's very difficult to get prosthetic advice online for paediatrics. I hope Ted will be joining us?

We can do that - I will add a Sexuality section soon. The female-only access area will be something that I'll need to think about. I know it can be done. I just need to figure out the simplest way of making it happen. Give me some time with this one... I don't know the answer to the Ted question. Does anyone have his contact info?

I would like to see a "read new posts since last visit" option. That allows one to know what they've not read. ...thanks Peter

Haven't we done AMAZINGLY well so far?
Thanks mainly to stonecutter, we have a forum, where only a few days ago we had nothing except Facebook and Questions.
I think those of us who do, should have a drink to celebrate our success.
Me? Oh, tea I suppose, but I might get a biscuit if I'm lucky.
Allen.

Yes, you have both done well! I particularly love the title 'Ladies of the Forum' - it makes us sound like some sort of cult.

I would like to see a "read new posts since last visit" option. That allows one to know what they've not read. ...thanks Peter Peter: I quite agree, and it is a shame that there isn't an obvious answer. But if you nip down to the bottom of the page (when you're on 'Home') in Forum Statistics there is a clickable link to 'Read the last 10 posts on this forum', which gives you the answers, but not quite as you (I) want. Allen.

Allen. Been looking for that feature as well. I've been having trouble locating it, if it exists at Proboards. There is one thing that we can do with the 'Read the last 10 posts' feature that Allen mentioned. We can change the number from 10 to ___. Would it help if we increased that number? And for those of you who expressed thanks... Cut it out... Seriously - no thanks are necessary, I'm just glad to help keep us together. Too bad we're not all here (yet).

No, I think ten's enough (but I'm not The Judge, so other opinions are welcomed).
One thing I WAS trying to find a way of changing was the soppy little type size of the "quotes" from previous messages. Nice to have them boxed, but I couldn't find any way of increasing the type sizes.
Allen.

We know it's summer in the northern hemisphere and the forum discussions usually dry up for a while in July and August... But I hope you all realize that these are YOUR forums. Allenuk and I are at your service. If you'd like to see more of something or less than something feel free to post in this area or send us PMs and we'll see what we can do.
I for one really appreciate our 'relationship' of support that we have here and I learn a lot from the other amputees who are members on this site, especially from those who have a different type of amputation than I have.
This site was a great support while I was going through my own revision surgery, and I hope that it remains for a very long time to help others...
I hope you are all well.
For those of you who have signed up and are lurking - start a post in intros - tell us a bit about yourself! We like meeting new folks.
Thanks!

Trevor, I think it's "slow all over" right about now. Every single internet group I participate in has gone dead for the summer. I hope we'll all be getting back online once our terribly busy social calendars open up when the weather stops being so wonderful!
I, for one, really appreciate how you and Allen have kept this place up and running for all of us...Thanks!

Oh I have no doubt. I've noticed that too on all of the other boards I belong to as well. A lot of that post was to inform some of our newer members that we're not always this quiet and that they can have a say in what the board structure is here if they have ideas...
