Hi would be interested to hear from symes amputees on the experiences they have had. I have been amputee for 33 years / From the age of 10 the manufacturers have not improved symes limbs very much as we are the minority of amputees and therefore they do not feel we are priority. I have now come to a point where my foots needs to be replaced and they cannot find anything on the market suitable for my needs. I wonder if there is anyone out there that have felt neglected and frustrated. I do believe in the more you shout at the NHS you get heard and why should we have to shout? Please would love to hear from anyone out there with their experiences and how they have been coping. I am a positve person and I do believe there is a solution. Attachments:

When I had my amputation 15 years ago, the doctors were planning a symes for me, however a nasty infection and gangrene resulted in a BK amputation instead. Sounds like you're pretty frustrated, I certainly hope some of our membership (and potential future members) can offer you more support.

My BK is a short Symes, so I'm not that much good to you lengthwise, Lynda.
However, I have heard from some of my Symes friends, in the last year or so, that there have been a few feet specifically designed for Symes amps. Perhaps Ted (our resident prosthetist) could help?
