I haven't written back much to people who have e mailed me because I am on pain pills and not too much for left handed typing to begin with.
My stump has been tightly bandaged and then immobilized by wrapping it to my chest, since I left the hospital after pain tests. This is to see if the pain can be controlled by non- surgical means.
So far it hasn't helped. I still reflexively reach out with my (now non-existant) right arm and hand and each time this moves the bone in my stump and causes pain to shoot though me. Often, I have to sit down then to keep from passing out. I must wait until my mind learns that the arm isn't there anymore to keep from involuntarily moving.
So I must use this general post to wish all a happy new year.

Thank you, Trevor, for taking the time to acknowlege me. I look everywhere, on line and in my real day- to- day life, for some understanding and empathy but find little, so yours is very welcome.
All I find is the attitude that "be tough" and "you can do it" and, most of all, "get over it", which is not too much help when I see my life's plans in shambles and what is left of my right arm feels like it is dipped in boiling oil.
I know that eventually I will feel better, but in the meantime it means a disproportionate amount to me when you think of me enough to write, as you have,
