All the best to you! Keep in mind that, while there will be some "break-in" time, a well fitted prosthesis will not hurt. If it does, keep after them for adjustments until things feel good and work well for you. And ask lots of questions!

Wow bet that feels great to be up and walking again Journey Home. I echo everything Cheryl says, break it in gently and dont be afraid to go back for adjustments if it feel you need them.

Thank you ladies! It already feels pretty good. Sort of like wearing a cowboy boot. I still have pain from the surgery but that is getting a tad bit better week to week. It's nerve pain. I'm going back in tomorrow for some adjustments and to get my permanent sleeves. I have the pin type prosthetic. I like it.

Right on! Keep up with the adjustments. Your residual limb will change fast, the socket doesn't change to accommodate by itself.

Congratulations on your new leg! I'm but a few weeks ahead of you, once I started walking more in my leg, lol before I jacked it up, my nightly nerve storms really really reduced! So awesome. Took me until almost 10 weeks post op to not be exhausted all the time! Now at 15.5 weeks post op I feel normal. Crazy how long it seems, but how quick it actually is.....

I walked six steps today without my crutches! I got the final prosthetic today. This is the one I'll have forever after all of the adjustments they did. It feels good and fits good so far.
