So in a nut she'll I have had my right big to amputated, and 30% +~ my left foot amputated. Soon after the left foot amputation I ripped some skin off on the bottom of my foot, went in and did a skin graft on that and did some clean up on the incesion. A couple of months later the skin on my achilles' heel was coming off and we did a skin graft on that. It is almost heal and where I initially ripped skin I got a blister, so basically the process is going to have to start all over again. In my mind I'm afraid I'm going to have to deal with this type of issues all the time, I don't have a full foot to stand on so I'm having to do different body mechanics to compensate. I kinda want to go to my doctor and see if a below the knee amputation would just be a better route to go and just a a prosthetic. I would have a full foot to stand on, I'd be able to get around without the fear of blisters or scrapes. Has any one ever been in this type I situation? Is it worth loosing more to potentially gain the ability to be more mobile.

I can relate. I had a right btk amputation after enduring a year of wound care along with a couple more surgeries and a supply of antibiotics via a pic line. Those antibiotics have now screwed up my stomach and digestive system. Knowing what I know now I would have just gone ahead with my amputation first. So I guess I am saying get it over with and hopefully your left leg can be done at the ankle. Whatever you choose I wish you the best of luck....Terry
