I have been wearing my prosthetic for nearly 10 years and a couple of months ago I fell at work. Ever since then I have not been able to walk 200 feet without have some severe pain in the back of my stump within the calf muscle.I have been going to the doctors as they require me to but between different muscle relaxers and pain medication the pain is still persistent. At this time I am very depressed because I was highly active before my amputation and since this last fall I am feeling really kind of useless since I cannot walk far at all. Then to complicate matters,After I told my workplace that I would need to work off of crutches for awhile, they very quickly found a reason to terminate me after 23 years of service. Anyway long story short, has anyone every had this type of pain after wearing a prosthetic for awhile and if so what was your remedy? I would really appreciate any answers or suggestions. Thank you for your time Mike

Did you have a really good look at your socket? Any hairline cracks? Is your alignment off? If everything on your rig is cool, then there's got to be some stretched ligaments or something in play - deep muscle bruising? Anyone have any other ideas?

I was going to suggest checking socket fit/alignment too. Have had something similar to this several times as an amputee, both times started quite mildly then got such that I couldn't walk at all. The first time I had a torn muscle in my thigh, though pain started below the knee and the second time, despite scans etc., nothing was found but a new different type of socket seemed to solve the problem. Good luck Mike hope you get it sorted, know how frustrating it will be right now for you.

Depending upon where you live, you might want to look into CBD oil therapy. If its nerve related, this will help. Its legal in many states now and I have used it myself from time to time to relax nerve pain issues. check online, they will ship it direct and you can get it without any THC at all, so you can go about your day not worried about having any type of high affecting you. Just a thought!
