I am a new amputee, I was operated on April 10, 2018, above the knee.
It was not the cause of an accident but an unsuccessful operation.
I have a fairly large stump, and I adapted easily. I am happy with my new leg, little pain either ghosts or others. My left knee is a C-Leg 3. I am 58 years old, male, 1,78 m, 69 kg. I go to gym everyday. I can not run, but it´s my hope.
Best wishes and compliments to all the visitors and participants of this forum.
( I am Portuguese, I hope you can understand my english)

Hello, anina! Well, it seems like you're adapting well to your new situation. Please feel free to review posts and add yours--we certainly welcome your input. I don't remember ever having a forum member from Portugal before--you may be our first! (Your English is just fine.)

Hi there! Welcome to the forum. Your english is great as snowyh said!
Can you run like Terry Fox?
Terry Fox (if you guys haven't heard of him) was a Canadian national hero who began a first-of-its-kind run across Canada called the Marathon of Hope to raise awareness and funds for Cancer research. Terry lost a leg to cancer in his youth. During his run the cancer returned and he passed away. Canadians every year participate in a 'Terry Fox Run' to continue his cause.
Terry ran with a hop and a skip. A gait copied by many kids (myself included) at the time of the original Marathon of Hope.
