Cause i think it would be a good Training for my short leg without having permanent Balance Trouble cuse of my short leg i start preparing my bike. I´ve started with the seat, i cut alot material to fit the socket without getting pushed to the side. For fit the foot well i´m still thinking about a good and cheap solution, i´ll go post as soon i finished:

Innovation at it's finest. Are you concerned about a ... ummm.... pinch point?

No i´m not, but my the Pants may could get hurt cause of a sharp edge, after first final test i try to get a smooth surface which doesn´t hurt Pants or human parts !!!

Okay...that is really clever! And as a gal, I don't think it would be any problem on the "pinch point" front. Now if only you were a below-knee amputee with a very short stump...then maybe you could come up with some euqlly clever ideas for my own situation!
I have not been on here for a very long time...so welcome to the Forum, guys!

Mmhhh so you will Need just a foot mounting Thing like me too !!! My plan is to build a plate for the pedal(+e=german) which has like two fingers which are Fixing the foot in front and in the back. A weight will turn the pedal in a good Position to get in the foot from the side inside. Hope the draw helps to understand !!!
Short isn´t that easy i know !!!

Very interesting...looks like a good way to assure the foot wouldn't slip out of position, and the weight on the bottom could be a real help! How would it work if you had to take your foot OFF the pedal quickly? (For instance, if you had to swerve unexpectedly and suddenly.) Is there some sort of quick release?
You may have a future in developing amputee "gadgets"!

To get out of it quickly you just Need to spread the leg, this is like Close to People with two legs are doing it !

I bought me some pieces for my foot mounting Thing (ca. 5€ without screws) !
Still need to reduce the weight of the top section to have a better stand up function with less weight on the bottom. But it should be no Problem cause my new leg is much lighter than the old one, i think max. 5kg is still possible to stay in Balance !!!

OK, i´ve bought me a: in Germany it´s called "Rollentrainer" to get on bike without Needing some help also it´s good to try the right Fitting of the parts (seat, foot mounting Thing). It´s hard to get on seat cause it´s higher and you can´t lean the bike to get the leg easier above the seat. But everthing is Training !!!
Can´t wait to have my first local "Tour de Germany" !
Here i made a vid of how to get on/off/out etc.

Hi, Roland, I'm enjoying following your progress on this project. As a suggestion, are you maybe better off with the seat set lower? Yes, I know that serious bikers insist on having their legs almost fully extended at the bottom on the leg stroke in order to achieve maximum ergonomic efficiency. But the truth is (forgive my pessimism) it may be another three or four more years before you are ready to compete in the Tour de France. Until then, could you compromise on developing maximum pedal power, and instead go for more convenient mount/dismount? Just a thought. By now you are probably already pedaling around a paint ball course, holding the steering bar with one and shooting with the other! If you go fast enough and swerve unpredictably, you will be a difficult target for your opponents to hit. Eric

Yes a lower seat would help in some situations(my Tech told me many use an ajustable seat pipe) but i also think, as straighter the leg as better. There will be still much testing and Training before handling works smooth. I´m sorry i tried to tell in the Video it would be cool to travel by bike to my local paintball field as extra Training ! With bike on a field i´ve never seen before i´ll go think about !!!
Getting up to a Level 50km won´t hurt me, it would be fine (i live behind blackforest near Stuttgart(ca.30km), there is not much flat land but may i have a tour next to a river !?!?!?)!!!
