Hello,
Anyone have issues with adductor roll?
I have been an AK amputee for 25 years, been wearing the skin suction socket for 22 years, and developed the adductor roll.
It does not hurt or bother me but my CPO has me trying to wear a seal in liner socket. They keep telling me long term there could be issues with the adductor roll. I can not seem to get comfortable in this seal in liner socket. With the skin suction I can wear it 16-18 hours a day... and sitting has become uncomfortable with the seal in liner.
I tried to look up information on adductor roll but can not find much.
Any help or advise is appreciated.

Hey, Dave, welcome to the forum. You're right--not much info available on the Internet using my limited search skills. Found the attached article where item 10 addresses a possible long-term problem with an abductor roll: "... if abductor rolls are left untreated they may become a permanent fixture on your limb and very difficult for your Prosthetist to reduce with a new socket." The idea seems to be to use some sort of slip-on aide to coax the abductor roll inside the socket. Apparently the A/K Brim Prosthetic Sheath, used to reduce the friction causing abductor roll, works best with a locking pin liner or a seal-in liner. Is that what your prosthetist is trying to accomplish with the seal-in liner socket? amputeestore.com/pages/skin-problems-amputees-experience-how-to-solve-themHelen Disclaimer: I'm an arm amputee who doesn't wear a prosthesis, so I can't really help you in the way of advice.
