I am taking my little man to the beach over spring break. How do you all get around? He is a right below the knee amputee. We have his first leg that will serve as his "beach leg". He wears a ossur silicone liner with some cotton socks and a pin system for a lock. We will also go to the pool every day too. Any suggestions?

Hi mom2noble I am often on the beach, usually though just walking or sitting on the sand (am a bit older than Noble) <grin> I wear my usual prostheses ... but do try to keep out of the water. Walking on soft sand can be tricky, but do-able.

I hate walking on soft sand... It's a real drag. If I have to walk along the beach, I hit to the part where the wet sand is... Much easier to walk there.
