Hi, I'm a below knee amputee and I've just received my new test socket my physio department at my local hospital received it today. So tomorrow I have out patient physio with my new and very first leg so they are still making adjustments to it. Looking forward into learning to walk again after five years of not able to. When I first got amputated I was septic my leg turned black. The doctors thought I would die. So 5 years later I'm doing good.

Hello.. I had a incredible journey in my life so far. So almost died three times.... the second time I was hit by a car on a motorcycle.. lost a quart of blood from my right tibia while laying on the street.. was in the hospital 3 months (this was in 1988)...steel rods were put in both legs.. was in pain for 33 years till I developed a sore on my right heel... So became the process of amputation. The doctors couldn't heal the wound they did all kinds of tests... I was in a rehab facility going back and forth to the hospital... so went back to a doctor's office and they took a catheter and ran it down my left leg and when they realized I had no blood flow no pulse in my lower extremities then they realized I needed amputation. they removed both legs above the knee February 2022. I used to be 6 ft 5 now I'm a midget.. my Walker is 21 inches from the floor. I live by myself in the middle of nowhere in Montana. There is a person that lives upstairs and helps when I need it. I do pretty good since I'm real determined.. I am 70 years old.. tell people if I was 25 I would be running marathons by now but as being an older person I'm in no hurry.. but I'm doing pretty good for only 8 months out...
