Company Safety mottos don't mean anything without training. My thumb was crushed because of someone else. They fired him , I am home in pain. I have read a few stories and wonder, its only my thumb I should get over it. Just want to say sorry to those with a greater loss. I guess I am looking for others who have lost a digit. The surgery remove tissue from my index finger to rebuild my thumb, its a few days old. 1. Recovering time for you?? months / years / still having issues 2. My index finger was not inured in the accident, the surgent did a flap surgery to rebuild my thumb, and than a skin graft to repair what was removed. Sometimes my index finger hurts worse than my thumb. Its also very stiff. Will this change? How much time? 3. My pain has not stopped since the accident - meds have dulled it but it hurts like hell most of the time. When will this change?? 4. Dam cold is like a 2 x 4 to the balls. Thank God I live in California, my body has never liked the cold. If I don't wrap my hand in a t-shirt for a walk I can get slammed with pain. Has the cold pain changed over time?? 5. Prosthetics dose anyone have one for their thumb??? I am a craftsman do they restore grip? Very few days behind me, hopping it well get better, morning the loss and knowing it could have been worse. Kind of getting pissed off at the thumbs up emoji, could we all just use arrows instead.

I believe at one time (years ago) we had a member who was missing a finger, but I don't believe they're still active on the forum. There's a Facebook group called "Finger and Partial-Hand Amputee Peer + Support Group" that you may wish to join. These are all great questions, badday, I hope you find someone to answer them for you.
