lHi Guys Newbie here needing some help. I have had a sore on my stump, for more than 6 weeks, and despite my best efforts of cleaning it daily, and dressing daily, it reuses to heal. Has anybody else dealt with this type of sore, it is in the worse possible part of my stump. I have tried jelonet, but not having any effect at all. I have tried to attach an image, but my pc skills are limited Any advice is much appreciated, i suffer from depression and this is really getting me down. Regards Brian

Hi Samperuso1, Welcome to the forums. That sore looks like it was pretty serious in the past. Looks like it's closing, however still quite substantial. Have you consulted a doctor just to make sure that you don't have a bit of a resistant infection? With the advancement of antibiotic resistant infections lately one can't be too careful. Another thing to consider is that the doctor may want to put you on some suction therapy to help that heal a bit. Bottom line - I would urge you to see your doctor and/or prosthetist at your earliest opportunity.

Thanks for the reply.
Its crazy sometimes you need someone to point out the obvious course of action.
I have an appointment to get my bloods done next week, at the health centre. will get a next day appointment with the treatment room, and see what the think. You are correct it was worse, but soon as i put any weight on it, it bleeds and any healing process stops, the obvious thing to do would be to stay off it for at least a week, but that is a hard thing to do in my house, but i might have to try it. Let you know how i get on mate, thanks again for the reply.
Regards
Brian
