I met Amy a few years ago at an amputee ski camp. She is the most focused person I've ever met. Way to go, Amy!
Ultra marathoner/amputee wins Sullivan

NEW YORK (AP) -Ultra marathoner and amputee Amy Palmiero-Winters has won the Sullivan Award as America's top amateur athlete.
Palmiero-Winters lost her left leg in a motorcycle accident and uses a custom-made prosthesis to compete against able-bodied men and women.
The other finalists were: Clint Moore, who plays baseball for the U.S. Military Academy; Erin Hamlin, an Olympic luger; Megan Hodge, who plays volleyball for Penn State; Angela Bizzarri, who runs cross country for Illinois; and Zak Boggs, who plays soccer for South Florida.
The winner was announced Wednesday at the New York Athletic Club.
Palmiero-Winters, who lives in Hicksville, N.Y., won the Arizona Road Racers 24-hour Run to the Future, a 130-mile race. She also placed first in two other 100-mile races.
