A few words about applicants not known to us.
We have taken the decision (we = me and Stonecutter) to operate an Open Door policy on new applicants. Initially, we had the filter of Facebook and so we knew each other from other places, but now it's different.
The word is out there about the new forum, and spreading - and this is what we wanted. But it DOES mean that names we do not recognise are now popping up. What do we do with them? Assume they are loopy devs, and say 'No'? Of course not. We HAVE to assume people are amputees or are their friends, or relations, and thus have a 'genuine' reason for wanting to talk with us.
Unless you know different! If you know that x or y is a devotee, and is only here because they get their rocks off being near to people who have had bits removed, then tell us all - either in open forum, or by PM to me or Stonecutter, or one of the other moderators, and we will ban them.
Why this non-liberal approach? Well, because this is a private place where we can talk about sensitive issues, and my job (if I have one!) is to keep it that way.
