Does anyone know I'd there is a way to repair (even unofficially) an Iceross Sleeve? I put on a brand new sleeve five days ago and this morning discovered a rand new hole in it.
The susceptibility of these sleeves to damage is ridiculous. My guy has had me try to put a thin guard at the top of my socket that shields the sleeve from the edges of the socket, but I found that to cause the sleeve to sage and wrinkled which, as you know will cause you to piston in the socket a bit.
I'm annoyed. I like these liners but can't get them to last an appropriate amount of time.

Although we do get our damaged liners replaced quickly and free of charge, I have tried a couple of things in those annoying weeks between getting a hole and getting a new one.
Puncture repair outfit didn't work, as it just wouldn't adhere to the liner surface. Crudely enough, Duct Tape (possibly called Gaffer Tape in N.America) worked for a while.
I found the more important thing was to protect my skin from being 'nipped' by the hole in the liner. I wore thin sticking-plasters in the appropriate place, which helped a bit.
The liners are of course a major rip off. I believe our health system gets charged upwards of £400 ($600 US, I think), which would be ok if the darned things LASTED!

I once was shown a liner that was described as "practically indestructible"...it was ALSO "practically impossible" to roll on and it "practically immobilized" your leg!
Actually, once I stopped wearing the ever-so-comfortable gel-style liners (which I would wear through in about a month) and went to something sturdier (if less comfortable), I've had pretty good luck with liners. My latest system, however, depends heavily on a leak-proof suspension sleeve that covers everything...and my first one of those CAME with pinholes in it. It was not a promising start...I'm kind of surprised that I stuck with it, although I have to admit that I'm really enjoying the final results.

All I know is that these sleeves are AWESOME for the first two or three days until they stretch out or get a hole in them. I work in an office with an occasional walk through a construction site. I don't play sports and my outdoor activities aren't that strenuous to involve lots of bending and pulling that liner tight. So I'm not sure why I am always slicing through these things. Usually it's like someone poked a hole in it with a pencil or something.
I think I'm going to try a couple things out in an attempt to patch some used up liners. I'm wondering if crazy glue in the hole will work.

Sleeves, I tend to get the little holes, especially around the knee. I have tried those little inner liners you can get to protect that area, but when you are wearing an already thick liner, sock and a sleeve, its another layer to have on and I wasn't sure how much protection it gave. Currently using Alps, easy sleeve, which are very flexible/comfortable and good to start with though over a few months does get quite stretched and I do find these little holes like Trevor mentions, though have had problems with my prosthetics especially round the knee and the finish has been in some areas quite sharp ... so could be cause of the holes.
Liner-wise use Alpha which is generally very good and takes a lot of wear, though I do find if the prosthetic is not fitting in certain areas, usually the more prominent boney areas I do get wear in those spots.

I’ve had some limited success with using silicone glue. Apply the glue by enlarging the hole. Allow a few hours for drying. Provided you plugged all the holes it should work again fine.

Hi Trevor, I’m just wondering if you have found a solution to repairing the holes in the Iceross sleeve. I am having the same problem and it is driving me insane.
