Sod's Law: when you get a painful spot on your leg, it is ALWAYS in a more sensitive place than it could be.
My latest small spot is right on the centre of my fib.head, just where the socket can rub against it in peace.
I've padded myself out with gel pads, which help. Maybe the next time such spots will go to the back of my leg, or somewhere else less bothersome.
Never mind, it's only a minor complaint!

Sorry to hear about Sod's Law! What is the product you're using for your gel pads? Having a similar pressure/callous (sp?) issue.

Hello Trevor. I use Spenco 2nd Skin circles - they're expensive, but I use them all the time on the end of my stump, and wouldn't like to try it without them. They do several other gel products, I believe. A (Here ia s clip I put on YouTube a couple of years ago, showing the stump usage of gel circles. Works for me, anyway... www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxj3PjGthQs

Ann: I'm pretty sure they ARE American, so should be available online - possibly even through Amazon. They're not the answer to everything, of course, but I prefer them to fixed lumps of rubber - because these things are only made of gel, they move around and mould themselves to your boney bits. One disadvantage (apart from the price) is that mine only last a day - by the evening they're usually worn through. But as I said, they do the job for me. Hope you find something that helps - it seems that we often have to make it up as we go along! A Nowadays I use 2 gel circles at a time, one on top of the other, and keep them in place with Chirofix (a low-tack adhesive tape used by Chiropodists... www.simplyfeet.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=chirofix

I use to buy similar from spenco years ago, I used to get them from a sports shop which sold climbing socks etc., it used to come in a strip to cut them into the size/shape required. They worked well for me though unfortunately became unavailable and the said shop now long since gone, but Allen your posting reminded me about them and just found they are available on Amazon, so many thanks for mentioning and reminding me about them.
