I've been a RBK amputee for a several months and getting around great. I've been driving our old farm pick up where I can slide my prosthetic to the right and drive with my left leg. My prosthetic is great with no problems to speak of. It's time to get a new car. I'd just like to hear some input as to what type of cars people are recommend or DO NOT recommend. Second, I'd like to hear peoples preference on HOW to drive. Do you recommend any of the left foot accelerators? It seems as though driving with prosthetic would be difficult because do you don't really know if your foot is on the pedal. I know a lot of people use a pin-lock system for their prosthetic. Does anyone have any experience with the left-foot accelerator devices? The one below is fairly inexpensive. It's hard to find many reviews on these different systems. Thanks for the help.

Use your good foot and leave the pedals alone. Is this for real? I guess if you have money like that, go for it though. I'd rather spend the money doing something fun.

I am an AK right, I use unmodified autos and just tuck my foot out of the way, using my left foot... have driven all sorts ove rthe years and have never found any car I couldn't drive (need to be autos though). I use a turntable just above the knee to make it easy to rotate the lower half of the limb out of the way.
