Hello, lilipip. Since you are the second person to recently post on this forum looking for this woman, I decided to do a little research on the mystery myself. These are pictures of an amputee who became an urban legend, "Barbie.avi," a few years back. As the story goes, a computer was discovered in a dumpster in Detroit MI, and the fellow who found it recovered a video of this woman being interviewed. The audio is incomprehensible, but it is apparent from the video that the woman becomes increasingly upset during the course of the 40-minute interview, ultimately crying hysterically toward the end. Near the opening of the video the letters BIID are flashed. BIID stands for Body Integrity Identity Disorder, a rare but real condition in which the sufferer feels that the body they see in the mirror is not the body they feel they have, especially manifesting as a person believing that they are an amputee with a superfluous limb that shouldn't be there. The person may actually go to great lengths to self-amputate the offensive limb, as they believe it should not be a part of their body.
OK, back to the video. Just before the end the woman raises her right arm revealing that she is an amputee, the horrific implication being that she has somehow managed to cut off her own arm. The parting shot is of a woman (waist-down only) walking down some railroad tracks. The guy who found the computer thought he recognized the railroad tracks and went investigating. In the woods near the tracks he found an old, seemingly abandoned house and went inside. He found a room with some new-looking furniture, a locked door going to the basement (which he did not enter), and a bathroom with a wet tarp in it. Then he heard a loud moan and got out of there as fast as he could. His next move was to post 3 parts of the 6-part interview on the internet along with his story of what he found at the abandoned house. Thus a new urban legend is born!
And now, years later, all of a sudden we've had two posts from folks trying to find out who this woman is and expressing concern for her well-being. Well, I can't solve that mystery, but what I CAN tell you is that this woman has a smooth, scarless stump, which indicates that she is a congenital amputee. That's right, folks, she was born that way. I can't say anything else about her with certainty, but I guarantee you that her arm was not amputated surgically. She's probably a housewife in Smalltown, USA with an expanding waistline, 2 kids in college and a boring job.
